Rinnai Tankless Hot Water Installation

To install a Rinnai tankless hot water system, your home must be constructed in such a way to allow the pipe to vent outside the wall in a safe manner. To ensure a safe installation, the pipe must be at least 12 inches above the grade. The pipe must also slope slightly downwards to prevent rain or snow from entering.

Step by Step Process

1. Drill a hole in your basement wall and install a vent pipe from the inside of the home to the outside. Ensure the vent is placed at a minimum of 12 inches above grade, clear of any opening windows or doors. 2. Add an elbow to the vent to allow for a connection to be made with the top of the Rinnai tankless hot water unit. 3. Secure the Rinnai unit to the a backboards on the basement wall and attach the elbow vent to the top of the unit. 4. Connect the water pipes to the premium Rinnai certified Webstone plumbing kit (to allow for future cleaning). The natural gas line is then connected. 5. Connect a 120V power source to the Rinnai with a switch and then run the system. The preferred hot water temperature can then be selected.
